Pigs In A Blanket - My Version
The weather has been dreary and rainy the last couple days, so much so that you want to stay cuddled up in a blanket indoors. That gave me the perfect idea to make pigs in a blanket for the kids to snack on. I never had a traditional "pig in a blanket" - only seen them in magazines or online recipe sites. I threw some stuff together that I already had and came up with a very tasty version.
I used the cocktail size smoked sausages, sharp cheddar cheese, and a can of regular refrigerated biscuits (not the large size). I flattened out the dough into circles on a cookie sheet, placed a bit of cheddar cheese in the center, and added 2 small smokies to each round. I rolled them up so that the cheese was opposite of the seam and baked them seam side down in the oven at 350f for about 16-17 minutes. I took them out when they were golden brown.
The kids were so excited and they were quite tasty too!! I just might make these again for our next family game night. What is your favorite family snack on the weekends? Please share or link to your blog.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!
